#22 Learning A New Language
Latin: Beginner's Latin
Learning is in progress...slowly...
So my first chapter of Latin is about "verb".
Conjugation of Verb
| confirmare | to confirm |
| dare | to give |
| edificare | to build |
| laborare | to work |
| legare | to leave, bequeath |
| orare | to pray |
| vocare | to call |
What can we see is all verb end with "-are".
Remove "-are" and add these endings to represent who is doing.
| -o | I |
| -as | you |
| -at | he/she/it |
| -amus | we |
| -atis | you |
| -ant | they |
Take an example-- dare (to give)
Remove "-are" and add "-o" and it'll become do (I give).
| laboro | I work |
| legas | you bequeath |
| edificat | he/she/it builds |
| oramus | we pray |
| vocatis | you call |
| legant | they bequeath |
This is how verb in Latin tells you about who is doing the action and how many person are doing the verb.
